For now, Holden got a pan out and started heating it up, adding a little bit of oil, as apparently Gideon disliked butter.

"This is the toaster over there." He gestured. "Can you put two slices of toast in?" He handed the pack of bread to Gideon, wanting to encourage him to try something for himself.
