"Remus is also cute. And really handsome. I guess Holden is more pretty than handsome." If he had to compare them, which was difficult, given how he felt towards Holden. More of a father figure, really. Cool uncle or sweet mother figure. Somewhere in the middle there. "What shit does everyone think about Remus?" He wasn't sure. Something about him being trans?
Sirius hadn't heard anything about it. "I don't think anyone dares to speak badly about Remus around me." Smart of them, honestly. "I love Remus. He makes me feel at peace, you know? Being with him is like being home. I've never felt that anywhere."
"You think anyone gives a shit. People want you so they hate Remus. They don't need a reason. Everyone thinks you settled or Remus is rich or something. They don't need to know he's trans or he has HIV, they can find a reason to hate him." Felix did find it funny that Sirius had yet to grasp that. It wasn't anything about Remus, it was all about Sirius. "The shit Holden got was cause he was with me. The gay club lost a prolific fucker and it's so hard to find blokes who are true switches and can top, you know? So they hated him cause he stole me. And they think the same of your Remus."
And they always would. "They aren't going to tell you to your face but they talk about it. I've heard it." He reached out and patted Sirius on the arm sympathetically. "Remus knows it too. They say it to his face."
"They shouldn't!" It was a very base reaction, going against his sense of fairness and it just wasn't right. Why did Remus have to deal with that when he already had so much else to deal with? Sirius tugged on his hair, brow furrowed. That was a lot to realise. "They can just try saying it to my face once."
He had a lot to say to that. However, he wasn't an idiot, of course he got that they'd not tell him. "I mean, it makes sense. Back in school, so many girls hated on Lily, this girl my best friend had a crush on. They hated on here even though she didn't even like my friend."
Probably also because she was beautiful and talented and unbothered, but still. "I just don't get it. Stupid negativity." He shook his head. "Holden always tells Remus to feel smug. Maybe that's what that's about."
"Oh yeah, he always says that at a certain point, you have to get cocky. Laugh at people. They wanted your boyfriend? Well, fuck them. He learned it from Minjun. Man, you think you have issues. Gyungho was a ladies man before he was 'turned'. Adds another layer, that does. He gets shit on a level Remus and Holden can't imagine." There was a lot there. A closeted boyfriend who came out, both of them being Asian and one being a catholic. The chaos there had been something to behold.
Relationships were always tricky. "Most people have that issue. One is desired and the other 'stole' them. You'll see it with most your mates."
Felix paused and then pulled a face. "There are exceptions. Like Hartley and Harry. No one wanted either of those fuckers, glad they found each other, frankly."
"I think Hartley's kinda cute. Prickly. Like a cactus. Also, he's a bit like Remus sometimes." Mostly about muffins and chocolate respectively, but still. Sirius glanced over at Minjun and then simply nodded. Yeah, he couldn't even imagine the shit he got. He'd witnessed enough of it just being near him. Being cocky really seemed the way to be.
He hoped that worked for Remus. It was difficult to imagine, but then he couldn't really picture it with Holden either and apparently it worked. "Harry's always been a bitch, but he's a fun bitch. Sometimes, anyway." He had been dealt a shit hand, couldn't blame him for being bitter. "So... Do you wanna go home and deal with your new child? I'm sure we can be productive without you too."
"No, you won't be. Minjun is one step away from redesigning the entire set so you're gonna be tearing shit down. I guess I should go, I just don't want to." He sighed and then nodded, putting his hands in his coat pocket and smiling at Sirius. "Pray for me, kid. I'm about to become a true old man or a kid hating bastard, depending on the talk."
And he loved neither option. "If Minjun gets too worked up without me, microwave that chocolate cake thing so it's melty and he'll chillax."
"We'll calm him down," Sirius promised, "Now get the hell out of here before he sees you leaving." Because that might get him worked up sooner. Minjun was driven and knew how to drive all of them, but the perfectionism could go overboard sometimes. Or always. "Also, when in doubt? Just bribe the kid. Kids are easily bought."
