"He's handsome. He has the most beautiful eyes." And the nicest smile, the best laugh. He loved even his sighs and his freckles and there was nothing he didn't love about him. Especially right now, when he was terrified he'd never see him again. That he'd fail to save him.
He looked at the bees and waved sadly at them, then started walking next to Taliesin through the forest. With the stake in his hand. Life had been strange, as of late. "The vampire is called Lazar. I don't know the other names. I think there's around six of them... And Lazar said he's over two thousand years old."
What did he know? He did talk about being at the crucifixion.
"They all claim that shit. Tell you what, we'll go there and see how many we can off. If it's too hard, just fucking grab your mate and leg it. I don't need your back up." He didn't know the name Lazar but he wasn't surprised. There was about a billion of these old or pseudo old vampires in the world.
"I got to assume they're a thick bunch if they took Remus for blood."
What fucking blood? He was scrawny as all fucking hell. It was like drinking a half crushed juice box. Drips and drabs. "The church ain't far, I'm impressed they were smart enough to leave me alone."
"They can probably feel it, can't they? That power in the air. Like electricity." It was all around Taliesin. Feeling much more alive and warmer, hot almost, compared to what he'd felt near the vampires. "I don't know if they're all that strong. Just stronger than us. Probably not stronger than you, sir."
There, he was full of confidence. "If I was a vampire and I had power, I'd be in a city. Not out here."
"If you're weak, you can carve out your own heaven in a smaller place. It's smarter." Taliesin didn't know what to say about the power, he had no idea how strong he was or what he could do, he just did it all alone for so long that he had no perspective. He knew he had gotten stronger but he had also lost most of his control. He sometimes partially changed outside of full moons, he howled uncontrollably some nights and he bit and scratched himself silly but at least he could always protect himself.
No one could dare to get close now. No one.
"Six together is strong enough to take me but it doesn't matter. What you have to do it get yourself and Remy out and I'll stay in there. Maybe I'll get out, maybe I won't. We'll see." He didn't much care.
"I wouldn't leave you." That just wasn't fair. He wasn't a coward. "We can do it together." Somehow. He had a lighter, he had the stake. He felt ready to take down at least two to three vampires. "Can you actually shift without a full moon? Remus said... He said it's possible. When you have enough power, then you learn to control the change."
Maybe that was all just legend, but Sirius was curious. Curious whether there was any help for Remus. "Does it hurt less for you now? During the full moon."
"I can't change at will but you can-- it's like-- mind your own fucking business!" Taliesin snapped in annoyance because he didn't want to answer how much power he had. "It's hurts, it'll always fucking hurt. That's being a fucking werewolf. Dippy berk."
Being a werewolf was pain, suffering, misery and in the end, loneliness. And the one person he wanted in the world, he just used him.
"I'll find a way to make it less painful for Remus. And I'm not going to let him die like that." Sirius was determined, ready to do whatever it took to save his lover. Ready to do whatever it took to protect him. And if that meant killing vampires, all the better.
They were within sight of the church now and he slowed down a little, hand tight around the stake. "Do we have any kind of strategy?"
He didn't bother to stop to make one either, he just kept on moving. He hiked up the hill, huffing in annoyance because he did hate exercise quite a lot these days and the hill was steep. Fucking hilly bastard Wales and it's stupid beautiful landscape.
"You know the entrance?" He asked, eyeing up the floor and the multiple possibly entry ways these suckers could be using. A vampire nest near him - and no fucking Kian. Typical.
"There's a staircase over there. Or something like it, anyway." He gestured in the direction of the hole he'd gotten out of before, when the sun had been much higher. Now it was in the shade, presumably making it more dangerous to approach. Still, no time to waste. Remus was in danger.
"Let's kill some vampires." There, that was a strategy.
"Just get your fucking boyfriend out and when you're out, you're out. Don't come back to my sodding home ever again." Taliesin warned as he started heading down into the hole. It was a slight drop and then a staircase that lead down into the deep depths under the church. Probably a crypt under.
Stepping into a clearing, he purposefully raised his voice.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU, YOU BLOODY GREAT BASTARD VAMPIRES?"
Sirius's eyes widened when Taliesin yelled and then he assumed he could come up with the strategy. The way that Taliesin was brimming with energy, loud and right there, no one would pay that much attention to him. He ducked and moved a little to the side, especially once he saw the vampires approach them.
He had to go deeper down, to where Remus and the others were kept.
"Oh, who is afraid of the big bad wolf?" Lazar was wearing a white suit, which was impractical for a vampire, smiling as he walked up a little, closer to Taliesin. "Are you going to blow my house down?"
Who called this a house? Vampires circled him and taliesin sighed. He was not a fighter, despite what people kept claiming. He had no technique, no stamina and not much fitness either but for some reason, that he couldn't understand, he was seen as stronger than most. He assumed bulk and anger?
"We gonna fucking do this or what?" He exhaled in annoyance and then looked at Lazar. "I like to be left alone. You're ruining it."
"It's not my fault if the little human goes to bother you. We didn't send him off. I wanted to keep him, actually."
He snapped his fingers and looked at one of his goons. "The boy's sneaking down! Get him!"
He heard steps running down now, but a vampire was in pursuit. He hoped that could take care of that. Whatever, he had a werewolf to focus on. "You smell familiar. And you've got some strength. I didn't know there was anyone hiding out around here."
Interesting. "It will be much better, keeping you on tap."
It was like a trigger, he didn't know how that trigger went off but sometimes it did. The rage he felt was so powerful that his eyes went almost black, his teeth malformed in his mouth to become vicious fangs and his fingers were stretched. The other vampires started backing up, never having seen a werewolf turn like this without the moon.
Taliesin snarled viciously as he looked at Lazar. "I'LL EAT YOU FIRST, YOU LITTLE FUCK."
"Look at that. An actual beast all the way out there." Lazar was delighted and distracted enough that he missed the sound of the fight behind them, missed Sirius staking his first vampire. "Show me what you got, beastie!"
That said he came right at him and so did the others, apart from one who was too scared for that, backing down into the crypt instead. Sirius took care of that one. However, by the time he came up with Remus, close to being unconscious, and the other werewolves, Sirius only saw bloody vampire remains and some ash.
And there was the howling of a beast from the direction of Taliesin's shack. The crazy old werewolf had helped them after all.

Just seemed like a strange use of eternity.

"You either live in pain or die a blood bag."

He really had no idea what to expect.
